While some clients come in for a nutrition consultation to learn more about how their food choices affect their health, others seek our assistance at their doctor’s recommendation. The following are just a few of the conditions that can greatly benefit from dietary interventions:

What to Expect During Your First Appointment?

We will discuss your goals, objectives, and reasons to seek help. We’ll review your medical history, including any medications and supplements you’re currently taking. We will then delve into your lifestyle to get a sense of your stress and energy levels, sleep patterns, exercise and gastrointestinal function. With that guidance, we can begin to discuss your dietary preferences, typical gastronomical choices  and habits, such as skipping breakfast or late-night snacking, as well as your cooking routine to identify areas of concern and develop some initial pointers to help you start eating healthier.

How Many Appointments Will I Need?

Most clients come in for two to three sessions, ready to learn and incorporate some simple changes into their diet and lifestyle and that is often enough to set them on the right course. Others, like the accountability of setting up monthly consults until they feel in control of — and comfortable with — their new habits. In that case we often recommend our 6 month Health Coaching Program.  It’s not unusual for patients to schedule a refresher a year or two after the initial consultations to review their goals or for help getting back on track.

Will I Have to Stop Eating Everything I Love?

Absolutely not! A nutrition consultation is a partnership. You Health Coach will not just tell you what to do to improve your diet. We work flexibly, starting with attainable changes that will have the most impact, and incorporating the tactics that make the most sense for your lifestyle.

By treating you holistically, coaching how to nourish your body with whole foods, reduce the toxic load and eliminate addictive substances,manage stress, improve sleep and address all areas of your life that contribute to your sense of fulfillment – we are taking care of the underlying causes of weight-gain, fatigue and chronic health conditions. The idea is to create a personalized blueprint that puts you on the road to better health. The Health Coach academy team will not design a diet for you, but will mentor you to be able to make educated nutritional choices and assist you to create a dietary and lifestyle plan suited to your taste and needs.
